The strange habits of birds

Approximately 9,000 different species of birds live on the earth, and they inhabit various places including the polar regions, high mountains and oceans. The apparently strange features and habits of these birds, upon close examination, turn out to be the result of adaptation over a long period of time.

Among them, there are several birds which have developed extraordinary habits unthinkable to humans. One can only be astonished by their incredible habits.

In Gould's works there are plenty of such examples; here, we have chosen the beautiful habitat of the Blue-breasted Wren, the Fan-tailed Warbler's nest, the Wryneck and Powerful Owl's feeding, the Greater Yellow-naped Woodpecker and the Chestnut Bellied Nuthatch's intimidating actions, and the Spotted Bowerbird's incredible courting.
